About Jeanne Benjamin...

My love for colour began in 3rd grade, when I complained that my new red shoes clashed with my clothes.
After trying many arts/crafts. . .I got “hooked” literally in 1971 and hooked voraciously on all design types.. While starting a family, I took the Mcgown course and was certified in 1979. Actually I was teaching well before that to intrigued friends. Once the Atha 1 school began, in 1981, I was enthusiastically “hooked” on all that group creativity.

About the Lib Callaway Collection of Patterns

Lib Callaway was a popular primitive teacher back in the days when narrow cut rugs were the rage. I remember her having full, dynamic classes in the 1980's at Atha 1 camp. Many of her designs stem from her love of antique rugs and folk art. There are over 250 patterns available in her catalogue.

...and her hand-dyed wools.

And when I began teaching “out,” I hit the road with relish. . .as of now I've taught in 28 states and Canada. An open class is always my preference; it encourages knowledge. Dyeing is a big part of my life, and colour planning is exciting to me even after 50+ years. Recently I sold New Earth Designs, which included many of my own designs. However, I am still designing and have retained ownership of Lib Callaway's wonderful primitive designs. It was an honor to be included in the first group to Celebrations' Hall of Fame.

And, don't forget wools! It is easiest for me to keep up with those on my Etsy shop. . It's under JeanneBenjamin

Have fun browsing and happy hooking!
